She grew up in a small community of Wild Elves in Chandlewood. There was fairly frequent exchange with the other elves that also live in Chandlewood, which is how she came to be best friends with Annu. They often spent many weeks at a time together discussing all manner of things while exploring the forest. They are similar age, and their families have known each other for generations.

Falahara's parents live in the Chandlewood forest still, her mother is quiet and reserved, (for a Wild Elf) and is partial to long excursions on her own in the woods. She has tutored Falahara in the ways of the forest and survival, as well as a fair amount of self-defense (she is especially skilled with the dagger, and believes one should never be without one, or four). Her father is an active member of the council and known by many for his vivacity in debates as well as his ferocity in battle. She has no sisters or brothers living. Her parents had a boy many years before Falahara, but he was killed just before she was born during an attack by the were-creatures that live in the Chandlewood area.

When Falahara was old enough to begin intensive training in particular weapons beyond the standard, she chose the one her mentor preferred, the spiked vine. This long chain-like weapon is wielded in two hands and can strike at targets in any direction up to 10 feet away. It is made of specially treated material derived from rare vines found in the southern Chandlewood forest, which has been tested against the strongest of metal chains and silken rope. This material is woven into a chain-like braided design that incorporates wicked barbs of some plants as well as dark metal fashioned to mimic those plants. This weapon took a long time to master, years of training and many mistakes, although Falahara learned quickly and practiced intently.
